G'day. We're Above Average.
We started Above Average in 2023 because we were sick of seeing rushed jobs, hidden surcharges, and tradies who don't pick up the phone.
We're a small, licensed crew that runs the business and does the work ourselves. If you're talking to someone from Above Average, you're talking to a plumber — not a dispatcher. Quotes are honest, scopes are clear, and we'll tell you straight if a job's outside our wheelhouse.
Mostly working the corridor from the Gold Coast through to Brisbane — new builds with the local builders, drainage and excavation around Logan and Ormeau, hot water and maintenance everywhere in between.

How quickly can you get out for a blocked drain?
Same day for anything urgent on the Gold Coast or northern corridor — we keep an emergency slot open weekdays. After hours, ring the number and you'll get one of our team directly. Brisbane jobs we usually rock up next morning unless it's flooding the house.
Are you actually licensed and insured?
Yep. QBCC Licence #15546927 — verifiable on the QBCC public register. Public liability cover is in date and we'll send a copy of the certificate before the job if your builder or strata needs it.
Why don't you list fixed prices?
Because no two jobs are the same and we won't bait-and-switch you. Pricing is POA — you ring or message us, we ask a few questions (sometimes ask for a photo), and we'll quote you upfront. No call-out fee on quotes inside our service area.
Do you work with builders on new builds?
Most of our work. Fixed-price scopes for builders, set-out through to fit-off. We carry our own excavator so we're not held up waiting on a digger crew, and we hit our slab and rough-in dates.
Do you cover both the Gold Coast and Brisbane?
The full corridor — Gold Coast through Logan and into the Brisbane south side, every day. North side and bayside on request. If you're not sure if you're in our patch, just give us a bell.
Can you swap out a hot water unit the same day?
Usually, yes — provided you can get us a photo of the existing unit and a label shot we can read. We stock common Rheem and Rinnai sizes; bigger heat-pumps may be next-day depending on supplier.
What payment do you accept?
Bank transfer, card on site (small surcharge), or 7-day terms for builders and repeat trade accounts. No cash-only nonsense, full tax invoice every job.
